If you want to getaway to the Caribbean, or travel to Europe, you can get great deals on all-inclusive special vacations package tours. The Caribbean, also known as the West Indies, comprises of a number of islands that separate the Atlantic Ocean from the Caribbean Sea. There are three main groups, namely The Bahamas, the Greater Antilles, and the Lesser Antilles.
The Caribbean is a beautiful part of the world and is one of the most popular tourist destinations. It has stunning beaches with soft sand and crystal waters, plenty of historic sights, activities, and a vibrant nightlife. A travel agent can help design a tailor-made trip that suits your wishes. This will include all the places you want to visit, hotel bookings, travel arrangements, tours, and anything else that you want.
Taking a Caribbean cruise is the ultimate way to see the islands. There are always special offers available. To get good prices, it's best to book several months in advance. The holiday season in the Caribbean is at its peak from December to April. If you are prepared to wait for this rush to wane off, you can get excellent discounts from August through to November.
When booking a cabin on the ship, there are different price ranges. For example, a cabin that has a porthole with a view of the ocean is a lot more expensive than an interior cabin. The same applies to the deck level. The lower decks are cheaper than upper decks. If you are prepared to compromise on these accommodation factors, you can save a lot of money.
The package will include accommodation, meals and free use of most onboard facilities. These include the swimming pools, lounges, library, spa, hot tubs etc. Services like body massages, the beauty parlor, hairstylist, alcoholic beverages and other bar refreshments are not included.
If a trip to Europe is more your style, this too can be tailored to suit your tastes. On this continent, you can cover a lot of ground in one or two weeks. Alternatively, you may prefer to concentrate on one particular country, e. G. France. Either way, you can book an all-inclusive package. These are known as multi-city or single-region excursions.
Europe is huge and consists of many countries, each of which has its own culture and language. It is this diversity that makes Europe so fascinating. Even the landscape of each region is different. Take the United Kingdom as an example; the thriving metropolis of London is nothing like the tranquility and remoteness of the northern parts of Scotland.
An example of a multi-city package deal is an 11 day tour of Rome, Paris and London. Included in the cost would be guided visits to some classic attractions. For example, in Rome you would see the Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum, St Peter's Basilica, and the Vatican Museum. In Paris, you will see the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysees, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Arc de Triomphe. Great attractions in London would be Buckingham Palace, St Paul's Cathedral, and Westminster Abbey. During these special vacations package tours, you can also spend your own time exploring various places.

Travel Insurance For Europe - Safeguarding Against Emergency Expenses

Adventures in far flung destinations including Europe can be full of excitement, beauty, history and culture, transporting travelers blissfully away from their daily routines. However, there are times on such journeys when the unexpected happens, and the impact of injury or accident can be much more substantial than if the same incident had occurred stateside. Travel insurance for Europe is available to travelers who will be visiting the EU zone and might need special care from European doctors or healthcare providers during their visit. Specifically, this type of coverage can help alleviate the danger of incurring massive financial harm due to unpredictable events while traveling in countries like France or Germany where health-care systems are often very similar due to EU-organized regulations. This is something everyone venturing to Europe should investigate prior to their voyage. European travel insurance plans are specifically designed to cover countries like France, Spain, Germany, and Greece. Since health care plans and systems are unique to regions and continents, a European travel insurance package will cover very different things than one for, say, South America.
Some travelers may be surprised to learn that the personal insurance coverage they enjoy at home may be inadequate protection while they are away in Europe. For example, travelers who engage in certain types of hazardous recreation such as scuba diving and mountain climbing may learn the hard way that their coverage has been negated by such activity when done in foreign lands. It is also important to note that even when traveling within a country with a nationalized system of healthcare -- especially in the Euro Zone -- a traveler may be wholly ineligible for free or low cost medical treatment in the case of accidental injury, which is often provided only to citizens. The European Union has done a very good job of organizing special travel insurance systems so that travelers can feel safe within their borders. This is much like the opposite arrangement where a traveler from Europe might come to the United States of America. Regardless of what state that individual mind find himself or herself, then he or she can still get great coverage. Likewise for you, it's important that regardless of what European "state" you find yourself in that you can rely on quality coverage.
In some of the European areas outside the EU zone, for example, foreign medical practitioners and facilities may be utterly unwilling to negotiate with a traveler's domestic insurance carrier for payment of expenses incurred due to accidents abroad. In such cases, upfront payment may be demanded prior to service. In the event appropriate treatment is unavailable in a particular location and medical evacuation is required, a tourist's conventional domestic insurance policy may not cover the cost, which can be significant. Because of these reasons and more, travel insurance Europe is a worthwhile subject of inquiry for all seeking to venture abroad. This is important to keep in mind if your European travel plans might lead you outside the EU zone into countries like Switzerland or Norway where EU coverage may or may not apply.
Aimed at offering financial compensation for unanticipated expenses attendant to overseas travel, European travel insurance is obtainable in a wide array of types and levels, depending on the type of journey intended by the insured. Trip duration, itinerary items, and destination region all are factors in determining the type of coverage that will be made available for purchase. Often, policies covering shorter trips may be selected concurrently with the travel reservations. However, a more expansive policy of longer term may be advisable, and such coverage can also be found. Large insurance companies, cruise lines, travel directors are all viable conduits for purchasing this type of product. European travel plans are much more common as a package these days, especially since many Americans and Canadians travel to the EU region during periods like Spring Break and summer holidays.
Travel insurance for Europe is also often typically categorized by the sort of tourist to be covered. Like the EuRail pass system, European travel insurance can sometimes organized by euro-regions and country packages. For example, you might be planning only to visit Mediterranean countries like Italy, Spain, and Portugal, but not northern Euro countries like Holland and England. These customized European packages are a great way to save money! Adventurists, students, business travelers and vacationers all have different insurance needs, and policies are available that reflect that fact. Travel insurance often addresses expenses relating to emergency medical circumstances, dental services, accidental death or injury benefits, and where necessary, funeral costs when death occurs abroad. Exclusions common to this type of policy might include preexisting health issues and any injury or death occurring as a result of drug or alcohol usage.
Please keep in mind that European travel packages are very different from generalized worldwide travel insurance combo packages where multitudes of countries and regions are included at a discounted or "bulk rate." In many cases, you are far more likely to get higher quality coverage from the European bundle packages because they provide specific coverage measures for the Euro-zone.
If you are planning a trip abroad, it's time to secure the right travel coverage for you.

More elaborate packages include dining at some of Europe's best restaurants, escorted sightseeing which can be helpful in non-English speaking countries, and special trips to out of the way places - all with the peace of knowing that the traveler is not alone in a foreign country.
These packages can be in one country in Europe or a "discovery" tour where several countries or cities can be visited over a span of days or weeks. There are many different companies available with a diverse selection of specialty tours, each focusing on a particular area or type like cooking, art and wine tasting to name a few.
Why Booking A Package Tour Could Be Perfect In Europe
There are a number of advantages to booking a European package versus traveling solo. The most obvious benefit is that planning all your stops is taken care of by the tour agency. For a lot of travelers, the planning stage is considered the most stressful. Secondarily, with all-inclusive European vacations, everything is done for you which allows you to enjoy your vacation unencumbered by worrying about the details. Perfect Europe Vacation Planning

Are you planning to go on a Europe Vacation some day? If so, you have picked an excellent place to venture to, as Europe has great cultural and historical significance, making it a hot locale for travelers. Places like Berlin, London, Venice, Nice, and Paris are very popular for people taking trips abroad. I have some tips for you, expert information, about how you can make your trip to Europe an experience you will never forget.
Keep an Open Mind
You should never settle on a rigid itinerary for your vacation. By traveling to a foreign location, you are giving yourself the opportunity to immerse yourself in a different culture and lifestyle than what you are accustomed to. For that reason, you should try looking into short-term rentals on homes and apartments. It is actually a very common practice in that part of the world, and you will find that renting is much cheaper than hotels or resorts. This will give you the opportunity to go into the streets and meet people, allowing you to learn more about the people and lifestyle of that country. That is the best way to have an unforgettable experience.
Stability
If you are looking for a more stable vacation, perhaps you should contact a travel agent and purchase a vacation package. Packages range in price, but you may be able to find a sale if you look hard enough. A discount package price will allow you to save more money for spending while you're in Europe. The benefit of vacation packages is that they will make sure you are on tours that explore all of the major attractions of a location, allowing for a worry- free vacation.
Bargain Vacations
The true key to getting a discount on a vacation, no matter where you go, is flexibility. You can save a great deal by taking advantage of bargains that only come up at certain times of the year and at certain places. These vacations are great if you can be flexible with:
* Which of the airlines you choose
* Which cruises you want to go on
* What you want to eat
* Where you want to stay
* When you want you leave
For example, if you have no particular goal in mind, but you just want to see Europe, then you will be able to find cheaper rates for traveling and staying in certain nations. Don't wait until the last-minute to start planning your vacation!
Stretching Every Dollar (or Euro)
Keep in mind that in other countries, prices are often times negotiable. Depending on where you go, especially in countries with weaker economies, you can often times haggle on the prices of your purchases, which will help you save a lot. This usually does not work with large-scale franchise businesses, but will almost always work with small local businesses.
Also, if you choose to eat at restaurants, a local restaurant is good in this respect because they will generally offer you lower prices then places that you are accustomed to seeing in America. Remember, if you truly want to make the most of your European vacation, then save money every chance you get, it will allow you to spend more on the things you like!

The Top Five Water Parks in Europe

Adaland Aquapark,Turkey
Adaland is divided into three distinct areas and each of them is guaranteed to cause your family hours of fun whilst on their package holiday. The spiralling slides and windy rides all take place in the Aquapark area and the park is best known for the slithering Yellow Python, a brightly coloured spinning tube which drops you out into a giant splash pool. The remaining areas of the park are the dolphin section, giving you and your family the opportunity to watch daily dolphin shows and afterwards swim with the stars, and the Seapark, which allows you to hand-feed magnificent manta-rays and snorkel amongst Turkey's marine life, whilst on your package holiday.

Water World, Ayia Napa

Water World claims to be Europe's biggest water-park, but it is the park's Ancient Greek styling and not the sheer size of the destination that has coveted it many travel industry awards. There are 18 rides in total from the spinning Aeolos Whirlpool to the rather more sedate Aphrodite's Pool, a huge relaxing Jacuzzi aimed at the park's adult visitors. Many of the rides feature height restrictions, but younger children will have hours of fun in the Trojan Adventure, a gentler play structure featuring water pistols and smaller slides.

Aqualand, Tenerife

Aqualand is actually a chain of seven water parks situated in Europe. However the best of the bunch is located on the island of Tenerife. Like all the best water parks, the site features a dolphinarium and the dolphin shows here are the best in Europe. The park is home to a vast array of water based rides and customers that have visited other Aqualand parks, whilst on their family holidays, will be pleased to note that it has all the old favourites from the spiralling Anaconda to the five-slide spectacular, which is the Super Slalom.

Aquasur, Gran Canaria

Aquasur is the Canary Island's biggest water park and also one of their most popular tourist attractions. The sun holiday daytrip destination is another Aqualand park, and whilst it doesn't have the friendly dolphins of Tenerife, it instead features a population of sea lions that your children will love swimming with after their spectacular show. All the family favourites feature in this park, including the spiralling Anaconda and the adrenaline packed, Kamikaze and Adrenalina rides.

Fasouri Watermania, Cyprus

Fasouri Watermania won the much coveted award for the best water park at the 2007 World Travel Awards and it isn't hard to see why. The park remains the biggest in Cyprus and is definitely a must visit for those on a family holiday. There is enough to entertain both adults and children alike and competitive families can organise a race down the six-lane Mat Chaser, to see who'll be taking on the washing-up duties for the remainder of the package holiday.
The bizarre Crossover game is a lot harder than it looks and involves crossing an activity pool on giant floating orange slices. Smaller children will enjoy playing in the slightly more sedate kiddie pool, and the football pitch and playground give your family the perfect opportunity to dry out before heading home

How To Export To Europe - Do's And Dont's In Packaging Products For Export To Europe

Cultural attitudes towards colors, numbers, shapes, sizes and symbols vary greatly from country to country. In designing your packaging, be sure to take into account these Do's and Dont's for the national markets you target.
CZECH and SLOVAK REPUBLICS
  • DO use the number 7, which has positive connotations.
  • DON'T dress your products in black; but red, white, and blue are looked on favorably.
DENMARK
  • DO use red, white and blue for packaging. Hearts are a good motif, particularly at Christmas.
  • DON'T use the unlucky number 13.
GERMANY
  • DON'T use red or combinations of red, black and white, or brown. Number 13 is also considered unlucky here.
GREECE
  • DO use bright yellows and greens or blue and white, avoiding black.
  • DON'T use unlucky 13; but 3 and 6 are considered positive.
ITALY
  • DO use bold colors for foods and toys, soft tones for cosmetics, clothing and "upscale" items.
  • DON'T use purple or the number 13.
ROMANIA
  • DO take advantage of the positive overtones of the numbers 3 and 7; but stay away from 13.

For most other European countries, e.g. England or France, packaging similar to what is appropriate for the U.S. is suitable. When in doubt, it's always wise to check with the U.S. Department of Commerce Desk Officer for the country(ies) in which you are interested, or with the commercial attach' of the target countries' nearest Embassy or Consulate.

European Tour Packages And Holiday Destinations

Europe is the favourite destination in the world for tourists and the second largest continent. The cost of travelling in Europe however can appear to be very expensive and potentially will put many people off taking a tour of Europe.
Times are changing however and there are now lots of tour packages available in Europe that are considerate of budgetary constraints and which can be adjusted to meet the specific requirements of the traveller.
With so much to see and do in Europe, including the many world heritage sites that reside there, it would be a shame to miss out on the history, culture, architecture, natural resources, and cuisine that the continent has to offer.
France is the number one most visited country in Europe and it is not hard to see why. The characteristics of Europe are demonstrated in abundance by this highly popular holiday destination. In particular the South of France is hugely popular because of all the illustrated features being present there and it being accompanied for the most part by a Mediterranean climate. There are also, believe it or not, parts of the South of France that will suit a limited budget.
Having said that, there are other countries in Europe that are more affordable. and one of the most affordable destinations is Turkey. If you select the best locations the climate can be very favourable, expenditure will be manageable and you will be able to enjoy a great holiday there. Spain is another destination where costs are perhaps lower than the favourite France and there are many other options depending on the type of holiday you are looking for and how much you want to spend.
For anyone interested in a tour of Europe but who may be concerned that their limited budget may not be enough for the trip, it is worth investigating what cheap tour packages are available. A great place to start to look for budget packages to Europe is a travel agent specialising in European travel. Most travel agents offer packages to suit individual budgets, so it is always worth taking a look.
That couldn't be easier these days as most agents have websites online that detail any number of the packages available. One of the primary factors for reducing costs is to travel in a group, the more the merrier really, because larger groups tend to get bigger discounts.
If you do decide to take a package tour make sure that you understand everything that is included in the price. Assuming you are flying, the main factors to look out for are flight costs (including any taxes), airport transfers, insurance, luggage, airport parking and what meals and or drinks are included. A fully inclusive deal often ensures that you know what you are paying and that there is no need to spend on additional items or incur unknown costs. The downside is that you may be paying for things you don't really need or want.

Top 10 Best Places in Europe to Learn to Ski

Learning to ski is a great way to spend a winter holiday in Europe. With the right resort and good instruction you'll be flying down the slopes within days of arrival -and best of all you'll take home a skill that will last a lifetime. (It's a bit like learning to ride a bike, except the falls are a lot softer.) Children make great pupils too, and will have great fun learning the ropes - giving parents a solid morning or afternoon time out from the little ones!
Make the right choice of destination for your first ski trip and it could be the start of a lifetime's addiction to this healthy and exhilarating sport! So if you've got the winter gear and are ready to roll, here are 10 ideal resorts in which to learn how to ski while still having a great holiday.
Cortina, Italy
Just because you're learning to ski doesn't mean you can't enjoy Europe's very best slopes. Case in point is Cortina, pride of Italy's resort offerings. It offers astounding scenery and majestic views over the Dolomites. There are very good beginner slopes and plenty of long, gentle gradient cruise runs, just what recent ski school graduates need. Another plus in Cortina's favour is that the instructors are skilled with kids and jittery adults.
Wengen, Switzerland
Wengen takes pride in having one of Europe's best known and most highly regarded ski schools. That means you learn faster, have more fun in the process, and pick up the right technique from the start. Wenger is positioned under the awesome north face of the Eiger, which has long held magnetic fascination for Alpinists. The learner slopes are right in the heart of the village and there are lots of long, gentle runs to move onto when one's confidence allows. The only negatives are that with a relatively low altitude snowfall can be unreliable, and the après ski scene is a little subdued, so youngsters in a group will need to make their own party.
Kranjska, Slovenia
For those wanting something a little different from their ski learning experience the pretty town of Kranjska Gora might be the answer. Slovenia's top resort is close to the both the Italy and Austrian border, at the foot of the Julien Alps. The resort is small and unpretentious, and the runs long and undemanding making Kranjska an ideal destination for beginners and those wanting to get off the beaten track. Slovenia is also more affordable than its more affluent neighbours so ski costs are markedly cheaper.
Lech, Austria
Lech is for those that want to learn in style, at one of Europe's most chic and expensive resorts. The price barrier has preserved Lech as a classic alpine resort with a small village atmosphere despite plenty of lively nightlife. The ski schools are excellent with experienced, English-speaking instructors and plenty of suitable runs for the learner skier. The position of the slopes also maximizes chances of snow cover and sunshine - perfect conditions to seduce a rookie. The snow season is also one of the longest in Europe, and at either end of the ski season 'Snow Crystal' weeks mean ski passes are halved in price.
Poiana Brasov, Romania
Looking for great value and uncluttered slopes? Go east! The former eastern Europe republics have some excellent and underrated ski resorts that are rapidly catching on in popularity. Good value means beginner skiers can try out the sports without breaking the bank. Poiana Brasov has two nursery areas, and the sport's friendliest instructors. There is plenty to do in the area as well, such as a trip to Dracula's castle.
Gurgl-Obergurgl, Austria
Despite its cumbersome name, the resort of Gurgl-Obergurgl is great for beginners and intermediates, with some of Europe's most reliable snow, and a small village atmosphere that is undeniably charming. This resort gets a very high rate of returning skiers which is generally a good sign. The nightlife is quiet though, and the more experienced skiers in the party will quickly run out of challenges.
Soldeu, Andorra
Andorra is one of the most popular places for learner skiers wanting to master the sports in a low-profile, good value environment before hitting the slopes in Europe's more fashionable destinations. Soldeu has sacrificed challenge and variety in favour of abundant beginner and intermediate slopes. The ski schools are decent and the weather and nightlife both reliable and cheerful. Andorra offers the additional draw of being a duty-free shopping destination with simply the cheapest shopping on the continent.
Chatel, France
Chatel is part of the Portes du Soleil in France, the world's biggest ski area. That means there are plenty of runs for skiers of all abilities. Access is convenient and cheap given the resorts close proximity to Geneva airport, and can even be driven to via Calais. There are plenty of beginner's slopes and well regarded ski instructors too. A big plus of this area is the range of accommodation, including chalets for rent right on the slopes, close to the ski lifts.
Bansko, Bulgaria
Beautiful Bankso attracts budget-conscious skiers who like a bargain and relaxing skiing conditions that are perfect for the first-time skier. The lift system is excellent and the green slopes, to which beginners graduate after a few days, have gentle runs of up to 16km in length. In total 65% of the ski runs are for beginners and intermediates. The town itself was founded in the 10th century so has plenty of history and interesting attractions to explore. Don't expect sophisticated dining and entertainment options though, this is a more down-to-earth scene.
Glenshee, Scotland
Glenshee boasts the largest ski lift system in the UK, and its 36 runs are ideal for beginners and intermediates. The top of the Cairnwell Chairlift offers the best panorama of the Cairngorms to be seen from any Scottish ski area. The resort is conveniently situated, but snow cover can be unreliable and the slopes congested with day-trippers.
General Tips:
- Get some lessons before you leave. Snow domes such as the Chill Factore in Manchester provide a realistic preview of the real thing.
- Try to get a beginner's package with your booking which includes lessons, gear rental and a lift pass if needed.
- Rent gear to start with - find out how much you like skiing before spending money on expensive equipment.
- Get insurance that covers ski-specific injuries.
- Make sure your accommodation is conveniently located to the nursery slopes and ski school.
- When someone goes skiing, you don't say 'break a leg!'

Camping in Europe is a Matter of Style

In Europe, hotel charges bite far deeper into budgets than you would sometimes expect. In Britain there is the inexpensive alternative of bed and breakfast. This does not exist to such an extent in the rest of Europe.
One way of getting around this, particularly for friends planning to travel together around the Continent, is hiring a car and, in summer, staying at camp sites.
Europeans are fond of the outdoors and there are camp sites wherever people holiday. There are, perhaps, three types of camping: luxury, pretty snazzy and bring your own tent. Which you select is up to your budget and style. But note most carefully that if you are taking your own tent you MUST camp in a proper listed camp site. You cannot pull into a field and hope for the best. It is illegal and strongly discouraged.
The three classes
Eurocamp is primarily intended for motoring holidays and is particularly suited to a group travelling around Europe by car. Eurocamp provides a choice of six-berth tents or six-berth caravillas, which appear to be of a very high standard.
Luxury first: Eurocamp, http://www.eurocamp.com, a subsidiary of the Next group of clothing stores, has well over 100 sites in France, West Germany, Spain, Yugoslavia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy and Austria. Many are away from the population centres in the Swiss Alps, the French Riviera, Tuscany, Innsbruck and the German Black Forest, but Eurocamp also has sites in Florence, Paris and Munich.
The caravillas - 9.5 m long by 2.5 m wide -- and tents -- 5.2 m by 4.9 m - come with cooking facilities, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. The caravillas have showers and toilets. Both forms of accommodation include a double bed and four single beds.
The campsites come with a variety of amenities -- most have restaurants, bars and either a swimming pool, lake or beach. All campsites have running hot and cold water, modern washing facilities and fresh water taps close to the tents. For some this will be paradise. For others, perhaps, a form of hell.
Many of the sites are in France, in the Loire Valley, Dordogne, Riviera, Provence, Pyrenees, Brittany, Normandy and Picardy. Free child care is provided at about half the camp sites.
Mid-level comfort
Self-Drive motoring holidays in Europe (http://www.drive-alive.co.uk/) for the independent motorist. These are camping and mobile homes in France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The minimum stay is three nights. The cost of your camping is included in the package price.
To check out prices I invented a family, parents and two kids, with a saloon car coming from Britain in May and spending five nights camping. The answer came back: The price of your holiday is EUR404 ($US508) including accommodation and crossing, but excluding insurance and maps.
Bring your own tent in true camping style
Interhike, http://www.interhike.com, covers UK, Ireland, Spain including the Canary Islands, Germany, France, Portugal, Czech Republic, Denmark, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg which is pretty well most of Europe.
Note that this is both a listing of camping sites and a booking centre. It does not guarantee the quality of the sites although, from experience, outside of the annual European holiday in August they are generally quite splendid and civilised. In almost every case you have to take your own tent and gear.
This is just a brief sampling. You can explore the Internet until your eyes grow dim. Use a Google search and just type in camping Europe. Then pick and chose.

When any one of us happens to mention that he or she is going for a budget holiday, we begin to imagine the inadequacies that they would be going through, just because they happened to mention the term "budget". These days there are many travel and tourism related companies which provide excellent vacation packages and help you enjoy your holiday to the fullest.

We all know that Switzerland is surely a place everyone would wish they could visit, but to say that the other places are not worth a visit would be wrong.

All the people who go in or budgeted holidays have had wonderful experiences and have even gone ahead and left testimonials of the splendid experience they have had.

Chatting in these chat rooms would give you a fair idea of what to expect and since you are getting this information from people who have already gone for such trips, you will have first hand information and realistic expectations.

Talk to different travel agents since they have excellent resources and reduced prices for almost all basic services across the globe. If you can try and pick a travel agent who specializes in Europe tours then that would be benefit you even more.
In addition to your conversation with the travel agent, also try to make sure you research about the travelling tips on the website of the country you shortlist. You can decide on the types of clothes you needs to carry, as per the weather that is expected to be prevalent during your visit. If you are a shopaholic check out the hotels that are close to the city and of you are a nature lover then choose the countryside for a panoramic extravaganza. There are many different aspects you would need to look into when planning a budget euro trip, so careful discussion with the travel agent along with research done on the computer can go a long way in saving you those precious Euros. Vacations in Europe - Suggestions For Places to Visit

European Vacations to Stockholm
Since Stockholm was founded more than 750 years ago, there has been a settlement in the Old City of Gamla Stan. Beginning way back 1252, pillaging raids proliferated the winding medieval alleys, the town squares, the old churches, and the Royal Palace. Nowadays, instead of horses or donkeys with carriages on the streets, you can find bus tours galore with tourists from all over the world. For a more relaxing tour of the city, try to avoid the main boulevards and stick to exploring the quaint side streets during your European vacations. Be amazed at how far Sweden has gone by taking a peek at City Hall, locally known as Stadshuset. It is Stockholm's most prominent landmark that hosts some of the world's most respected individuals at its annual Nobel Prize banquet. See the 10,000-piped organ, the impressive Golden Hall where Swedish history is depicted on wall mosaics with 18 million pieces in gold leaf, and the Council Chamber, which resembles the open roof of a Viking longhouse.
Enjoy a Barcelona Feast on European Vacations
What better way to start your European vacations than with a bang in Barcelona! The Festes de la Mercèe arrives in town in September. Through the years, this intimate religious parade has evolved into a weeklong party celebrating Catalan culture. Visitors are treated to a variety of choices, including fireworks displays on the beach, air shows on the seafront, performances and exhibitions, and free concerts of local music and hip hop genres. There are many activities tailored to various age groups, so kids won't be left out. Continue the celebrations with a taste of local cooking. For a delectable selection of Catalan classics, head to Cinc Sentits. House specialties include the mouthwatering suckling pig with apple compote, slow-braised pork belly on gingerbread, Catalan float coca bread with foie gras, and lamb cutlets with porcini dust. Or live dangerously and order all four dishes!Leave room for scrumptious desserts such as apple sorbet, maple quesada, or a plate of cheese paired with fine wine.
Monaco Honeymoon European Vacations
What better way to start off your honeymoon than with a stay in a fairy-tale setting such as Monaco? The Principality of Monaco is less than two square miles, but is definitely not short on elegant offerings -- the royal House of Grimaldi, the Paris Opera House, and the Monaco Grand Casino which is lavishly decorated with baroque-style rococo turrets, verdigris cupolas, and golden chandeliers. Monaco is an ideal harbor for the world's longest and most luxurious yachts since the city-state has a spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea. Marvel at the architectural prowess of Old Town, which dates back to the medieval period. Navigate through the vaulted passageways and narrow streets branching off the main avenues. The Rock of Monaco houses the Prince's Palace, where his Serene Highness Prince Rainier III romanced Grace Kelly. For the heady fragrance of over 7,000 types of flowers, visit the Jardin Exotique where the exquisite Princess Grace Rose Garden continues to flourish.
European Vacations to Charming Lisbon
Lisbon is one of the most popular destinations for people on European vacations. Although it is very small compared to other capital cities, Lisbon in Portugal is equally quaint and charming. Cobblestone streets, rolling hills, and pastel-themed houses line the shores of this port city, its sidewalks accented with mosaics. The Art Nouveau cafes are a great place to relax, and the ride on an antique wooden streetcar offers a soothing experience. Head up to Barrio Alto for breathtaking views of the city; you can get there via a 1902 street elevator -- the Elevator de Santa Justa -- that departs from Baixa. Continue your path to spectacular scenes by traveling to the viewing platform at the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, an awesome 179-foot monument that marks the Age of Discoveries. After visiting the museum inside, head to the Belém Tower -- a four-story, 100-foot 16th century tower built from lioz limestone, which played a considerable role in the Portuguese maritime achievements of that time.

Top Destinations: Skiing On A Budget In Europe

For a fantastic winter break, why not consider a skiing holiday in one of Europe's top destinations? Most mountain resorts offer beautiful landscapes and superb apres ski fun. European ski resorts are notoriously expensive, and even budget skiing holidays are hard to come by. Rather than going for the conventional package deal, try booking the holiday yourself. Here are five suggestions to help you get started:
1. Search for an 'alternative' ski resort - When looking for a ski break in Europe most people only consider the French Alps and Austria. You may or may not know that it's also possible to still have a great skiing holiday in many other European countries such as Poland, Slovakia, Bosnia and Scotland. It's worth considering these alternative destinations for your break as they will almost certainly offer you better deals.
2. Think outside the box - You will need to think laterally if you are going to save money on your ski break. Try using the internet but whatever you do don't go for the companies on the first few pages on your search engine. They will most likely to be the major tour operators and are best avoided. Instead search for independent accommodation lists and directories such as holiday home rentals. Once you have found a holiday home rental list find the properties that are in the ski resort of your choice and of course the closer to the centre of the resort the better. If you book through sites like this you could potentially save hundreds.
3. Rethink your transport - Many vacationers believe the only way to travel to the ski resort is by flying and then sitting out a long coach journey. If you already live in Europe make sure you also look into travelling by train. The Eurostar Ski Train and the standard Eurostar are options to consider. Once at a European city you can always catch the coach or even share a taxi if there is a larger of group of you (this can actually work out cheaper than buying a coach ticket each).
4. Work out the cheapest travelling times - Another money saving tip is to travel at off peak, anti social times. Very early or late journeys are often cheaper than the more conventional travel times, but be sure to find out check-in times at your destination, or you could be in for a long wait before unloading your gear! You might even want to stay at a hotel near your departure station or airport the night before you travel, to ease the pain of that early train or flight.
Don't get caught out on the variable price policies that most flight and train operators work on. Prices will go up as demand goes up. To get the best deal make sure you book as soon as you have found the cheapest price - don't dither and lose out! Chances are the price will have gone up the next time you look.
5. Find ways to save money on ski equipment - Skiing equipment is one of the biggest costs of the trip, so get your kit sorted as wisely as you can. Shop around online before you go, as buying at the resort will always cost you more. Better still, buy your ski gear in the sales the year before you go for great discounts! Be sure to get your lift passes online before you leave, to avoid higher costs and queues at the resort.
Follow these tips and you could save yourself hundreds per person on your European skiing break - even in exclusive resorts such as the French Alps. Have a fantastic time!

Best Places In Europe For Summer Vacations

For those who have decided to visit Europe in June, July or August, invariably the most important question for them is: "What are the best places in Europe for summer vacations?" It's a very good, if not challenging question. The reason of course is that there are so many extraordinary possibilities. Europe is rich with history, scenery, art, architecture, and well, just fun. Let's take a quick tour of a few places that are sure to captivate the new visitor to Europe.
Before discussing any stopping off point, one of the biggest mistakes that you can make when planning a trip to Europe is trying to take in too many countries. This strategy has the potential of causing you to suffer from overload. Instead of fully appreciating the moment, in let's say Holland, you just might find yourself fretting about the travel arrangements, as well as other things, you need to tend to for tomorrow's destination. A good rule of thumb is to remind yourself that this will not be your one and only visit to Europe.
With the above caveat out of the way, let's take a look at Rome. For anyone who has studied the Roman Empire or has even heard of it will not be disappointed in what Rome offers. While there, be sure to see the Catacombs, the Parthenon, and, of course, the Coliseum. You will feel as though you have been transported back in time. Don't forget to find a trattoria afterwards for an antipasto and pasta dish.
London is a city of many virtues. It offers a multitude of activities and places to visit. For theatre lovers, be sure to frequent the West End of town to take in the latest productions. The changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace is a testament to long held military and royal English tradition. Military buffs will want to be sure to visit the Imperial War Museum.
Salzburg Austria is the home of Mozart. It is also home to some of the most spectacular Alpen scenery you will ever experience. The Old Town section of the city has been designated as a World Heritage Site since 1996, further testament to the city's beauty. After seeing Mozart's birthplace and the Salzburg Cathedral, be sure to try the Wiener Schnitzel vom Schwein or Wiener Schnitzel.
The "City of Lights" draws millions of people every year, especially for the more romantically inclined. Paris, with its outdoor cafes and eminently charming Champs-Elysees, seems to bring out the warmth in everyone. Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Arc de Triomphe are not to be missed.
The Franz Josef Strauss airport serves the capital city of Bayern (Bavaria.) Munich is a city whose motto is "Munich Loves You." You can imagine then just how this city treats its visitors. It is place for everyone and home of the world famous Oktoberfest. Students and young travelers will feel right at home visiting one of several night spots, or mingling with students attending its many universities. Everyone will want to be sure to see the Deutsches Museum, among the world's oldest science museums.
This has hardly been an exhaustive list of places to see in Europe. But that's what makes this continent one of the most sought after vacation destinations. There are countless possibilities for nearly everyone.

Discovering Europe For The First Time

If you are considering visiting Europe for the first time then you may find that the options available to you are somewhat bewildering. One way of getting the best out of your first visit is to consider taking an escorted break.
One of the great things about Europe is that there is so much diversity within the continent. From the romantic beauty of Paris to the unspoilt charms of the cities of Eastern Europe, this is a continent of opportunities and cultural differences.
Deciding where to visit can be difficult. There are so many places to see that it can be tricky to narrow down your options.
Escorted touring holidays provide a great way to see Europe for the first time. The way that these tours usually work is by offering a set price for the touring package.
The price generally includes accommodation during your stay, transport to enable you to get from one city to another, plus a guide who is familiar with the locations that you are visiting.
The advantage of such a trip is that the tours will usually take in a number of different European cities. You might, for instance, decide to visit Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland all within the space of two weeks.
Fortunately, such an itinerary is perfectly possible with an escorted tour. Equally, maybe you are thinking about travelling to Italy but are unsure of which cities there are best to visit. With an escorted tour, you will find that you get to see all of the highlights.
With an English-speaking guide who is familiar with the local sights and history, you will also be able to benefit from their knowledge. Although guide books can provide a great introduction to a new place, having an experienced guide on hand can be extremely helpful, enabling you to find out a lot more about your chosen locations.
Some travellers are put off the idea of an escorted tour because they worry that they will lose the independence that comes with travelling. Most tour companies are aware of this and actually allow spare days within their itineraries, meaning that you are free to have a wander around the city in your own time.
Escorted tours can provide a great way to see Europe for the first time

Sail Through Europe on the River - Take a Cruise on the Danube

Looking for a city break with a difference? Do you want to see Europe from a new perspective? Do you still require a certain level of luxury and service? If the answer to these questions is yes, then give river cruising a try.
Europe is riddled with waterways, many of which are some of the most well known in the world. Rivers span hundreds of miles and traverse dozens of culturally and visually diverse countries and landscapes.
So what are the main benefits to or draws of this kind of cruising? Firstly, you will sleep in just one, very comfortable bed whilst you travel. For example, you can spend a week cruising along the Danube, travelling from Germany to the Ukraine, waking up in a new place every day but sleeping in the same, luxurious floating hotel. This 'hotel' is just like any other insomuch as you have your own en-suite room, a bar and a restaurant. The main difference is your view, which will constantly change throughout the trip. One minute you could be in Budapest, the next passing through the Iron Gates Gorge along the Serbia-Romania border.
Sleeping in just one floating hotel means you only have to unpack once and you won't get tired from travelling to new locations most days. River holidays basically take the hassle out of travelling. You can even choose to arrange flights and transfers yourself or buy a fly-cruise package.
River cruise ships are small, informal and friendly. They usually cater to about 140 passengers, so they are great places to meet other, like-minded travellers, making them perfect for single cruisers. Being small and perfectly formed means the English-speaking crew are highly attentive resulting in service of the highest standard.
But perhaps the biggest advantage to river cruising comes from being so close to the shore. You will see how rural life functions; you'll remark at the beauty of the landscape, and you'll watch as the local culture gets lived out in real life. It's not just the places you stop at that make a river cruise so interesting; it is the places you pass by that colour the journey.
The combination of small craft size and a close relationship with the life onshore means excursions are numerous and varied. One day you could be exploring an ancient city with a local guide whose knowledge seems almost limitless, the next you could be learning about wine from the owner of a small, independent vineyard.
You cannot compare river cruising to any other type of holiday. It offers vignettes into a country's inner workings but also offers an overall view of a region. The only way you'll know what it is really about is to test the waters yourself.

Camping In Europe - Discover The Pros And Cons Of Camping Abroad

If you wish to go on a foreign holiday but do want the high cost of staying in a hotel or resort then camping abroad or camping in Europe especially could be for you. You can enjoy many different experiences that you would not normally be able to take part in if you had your camping trip in the UK.
In France there are hundreds of rural campsites where you can stay at, anywhere from a vineyard to a cheese makers. Some European campsites are huge in size, some sites in Italy literally have several thousand pitches available. This form of camping has really taken off in Europe and is now popular in countries such as Croatia.
The larger campsites found in France are often based in large coastal towns and can offer the camper exotic swimming pools, fine dining and supermarket shopping. Alas there are drawbacks. The downside is that on the plus side you will get a lovely sunny holiday but on the downside due to this climate many sites are totally devoid of any grass in the high season. Shade is hard to come by, and European campsites do pack the people in very tightly. There is often no more than a metre separating you from the next family in their tent. In the UK it is governed by law that you have to allow at least six metres between each tent.
Try not to let these pints put you off; a foreign camping experience will be a memorable experience. If you are a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club then they have a foreign travel service which you can utilise to book it all for you, as the prospect of finding one of the many thousands of campsites in Europe can seem a bit daunting. They provide you with a European camping package including ferry crossings, travel insurance, roadside recovery, pitches and a wealth of other useful information. You often find as well that they can do it cheaper this way for you than if you tried to arrange it yourself.
Many keen campers never leave Britain's shores, I can indeed understand this as the British experience of camping is like no other, however if you don't experience foreign camping then you are certainly missing out on what camping has to offer. Europe attracts thousands of British campers each and every year, so you owe to yourself to give it a try sometime.
